Founded in 2015, the U.S.- China Youth and Students Exchange Association is dedicated to fostering cultural exchange and collaboration among young people from China and the United States.
The establishment of the association is closely linked to significant moments in the history of China-U.S. diplomacy. In 2015, David Chong, the president of the association, successfully organized and advanced the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan to Lincoln High School in Washington,U.S., resulting in the founding of the association.

"Fifty thousand in five years" plan
In November 2023, President Xi Jinping announced, "To expand exchanges between the people of China and the United States, especially the younger generation, China is willing to invite 50,000 young people to come to China for exchange and study over the next five years."
The Association is the primary organization responsible for implementing this vision
